Anat Baniel Method (ABM) Neuro-movement® for Children
“Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it.” ― Helen Keller
ABM for children is scientifically based. Slow and gentle movements and or techniques are used to help the child with special needs form new neural connections that lead to the possibility for new movement, thought, feeling and also improve the sense of self. Children are incredible learners and have the ability for potent learning due to the plasticity of the brain reqardless of their condition. We start with the child where they are at and work with what they can currently do. Movement is used to help the child's brain perceive differences. When their brain perceives differences that's when the learning starts. This can be applied at any age, however early intervention generally provides the quickest and most dramatic results.
Children with the following conditions, as well as other neurological difficulties may benefit from ABM work:
* Cerebral Palsy/ Stroke
* Spina Bifida
* Brachial Plexus Injury
* Genetic/ Chromosonal Disorders
* Autism Spectrum Disorders
* Birth Injuries/ Neurological Issues
* Developmental Delays
* Scoliosis
* Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
* ADHD

Create New Possibilities with Neuro-movement
Jan Sevde is excited to bring the Anat Baniel Method for Children to Nashville and Memphis, TN. This intensive Program will help further your child’s journey on his unique path to growth, health and development. By using ABM’s 9 Essentials, I go slow to connect with the child, use movement with attention; this helps the brain to start perceiving differences, stimulating the nervous system to “Wake-Up” the brain which turns on the learning switch.

Kimberly - Mother of son with hemiplagia
Our son, Eli, has seen Jan for several sessions of ABM lessons over the last few months. Eli survived a stroke in utero and as a result has hemiplagia on the right side of his body. Each lesson has helped Eli to work towards better overall gross motor development and specifically to use his right side. During our first series of lessons with Jan, Eli spontaneously opened and reached out with right hand (which is often fisted) to play with some beads. It sounds so simple, but it was an amazing moment! Like a peak into what was possible. The week following those lessons Eli began to do things with his left (unaffected) side that he had not been doing such as putting his left foot in his mouth and rolling from back to belly. We were thrilled! With each set of lessons we see subtle and (sometimes big) things shift. We are certain that Eli would not be where he is and on the trajectory he's on without Jan and ABM! Jan makes the lessons fun and interesting.
